descendants of Adam, while the flesh is the medium and sphere of its operations. As the
old man is more like the root of the matter, it is not seen so readily, hence the number of
passages which deal with the flesh is great, the number dealing with the old man being
small. May we rejoice in knowing "the truth in Jesus"; namely, that we have put off the
old man, and have put on the new, and may we ever seek to walk in harmony with such
truth, to the praise of the God of all grace.
Rom. 6: 6
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin.
