MAJESTY

The picture above would certainly be a strange and mystifying sight for anyone who has never read the Bible. Someone walk on water? How could that ever be possible? But we do read in the gospel narratives of this historical event that took place when the disciples of the Lord Jesus were caught in a storm in the middle of the Sea of Galilee during the very early hours of the morning. The disciples thought they saw a ghost and were terrified, but the Lord identified Himself and comforted them.
Every once in awhile we will hear someone use the expression, "You can't walk on water," implying an impossibility for a person to perform a certain task in some given situation. We believe that many who use this expression do not realize its origin and that it has its roots in the event pictured above.
What is impossible with men is possible
with God. The God-Man Christ Jesus walked on water. It is a
testimony to His Deity. As God He will be crowned King of Kings and
Lord of Lords. The book of Hebrews further expresses His exaltation:
"Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His
Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He bad
by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right band of His Majesty on
high" Heb. 1:3. But in denial of Christ s claim to be "The
Way, The Truth, and The Life," and "that no man comes unto The Father,
but by Me" (John 14:6), many prefer to put their trust in some form
or branch of religion and compare
all like spokes of a wheel that lead to the one hub which
is supposed to represent the One God. Of course this is built upon
the premise that man possesses an immortal soul, and only the body dies.
But the Word of God teaches that after death there is no escape, no release
for man from the prison house of gravedom, except through the power and
authority of the One Risen Christ Who alone possesses immortality.
At the raising of Lazarus, He proclaimed: "I am the resurrection,
and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live" John 11:25.
