The Word of God.
p. 208
This title of the Scriptures, which is of constant occurrence in the Acts of the Apostles,
is an enlightening testimony to the character of the Apostle's preaching in the power of
the Spirit.
"They spake the word of God" (Acts 4: 31).
"That they should leave the word of God" (Acts 6: 2).
"The word of God increased" (Acts 6: 7).
"They received the word of God" (Acts 8: 14).
"They preached the word of God" (Acts 13: 5).
"They desire to hear the word of God" (Acts 13: 7).
"They came . . . . . to hear the word of God" (Acts 13: 44).
"The Jews had knowledge that the word of God was preached" (Acts 17: 13).
"So mightily grew the word of God" (Acts 19: 20).
It is evident that the apostolic conception of the gospel found no room for questioning
or setting aside the Word of God.
